Battery dead but not charging after jumpstart?

Hello, of course I don’t know about cars and you
got your stereotype right , but I’m in need of
help.
Yesterday my car didn’t want to turn on right when
I was already 10 min late for one of my finals and
my Uber back helped me jumpstart the car. He
said “let it charge and then drive it”. I did not since
I thought it was on and it could run. Well my
dumbass learned the hard way that I guess you do
have to charge it. My battery is from the AAA and it
was placed on 5/17 but I don’t know if those are
good. First, how long should I let it charge and
how long should I drive it? And also, should I take
it to aurozone to have the battery checked?

Thank you! called father and he said I needed to leave it for at least 15 min and then drive it but my battery might be dying
