Looking for some help here. I hear a light
pinging sound coming from my engine
while driving. No pinging noise when car is
in park and rev the engine under no load. I
also put car in drive and stepped on
brakes and revved engine to see if it
happened under a load, still no pinging.
However it happens every time I drive and
accelerate. I have used 92 octane. The check engine light is not on and the vehicle does not burn oil. No sensors or warning lights are lit.

Did you get to the bottom of the fault. I have a 2011 dtec that is doing exactly the same thing. I have checked over the exhaust and can not find any leak at all.

Presently, i live in Nigeria, a country in West Africa. Not quite long i orderd 4 Honda CRV 2009 Model 4rum the US. And on its arrival here in my country, i had to send my younger brother 2 bring it 2 my residence which is about 48 hours journey 4rum the clearing or sea port 2 my town. 1999 Honda CR-V will not start. I changed the fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator along with the fuel filter and the main relay but the vehicle still will not start. The distributor along with the coil was replaced about two months ago, spark is ok. Sometimes the vehicle start for a few second but the engine stalls as if the timming is off but the timing is ok, also sometimes it back fires and when it does the vacuum hose that is connected to the fuel pressure regulator comes off from the regulator. I check the injectors and they are getting power. I disconnected the exhaust thinking of the catalytic but still no start. Could it be the computer? Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thanks 8 Answers
