Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2010 Toyota rav4. The volume knob on the right side of the radio is turning, but the volume is not working the way it should. I saw a youtube video that says I should spray WD 40 on grooves. Is that a good way to solve problem

SPRAYING WD40 WORKED ON MY 2003 TOYOTA RAV4 BUT I HAD TO REMOVE MY UNIT BECAUSE I COULDN'T PULL THE KNOB OUT DUE TO FIXED DISK. ONCE I REMOVED THE FACEPLATE AND SCREWS ON THE CIRCUIT BOARD I WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE STEM - JUST BE CAREFUL AND BLOCK THE VENT PRIOR TO UNSCREWING SO SCREWS AND CLIPS DONT DROP DOWN INTO THE VENT
I GRASPED THE KNOB BETWEEN MY THUMB AND FOREFINGER AND JUST TWISTED THE KNOB BACK AND FORTH RAPIDLY ABOUT FIFTY TIMES. THEN I PUSHED THE BUTTON ALL THE WAY IN AND DID THE SAME THING. WORKED LIKE A CHARM AND FIXED IN A FEW SECONDS!
