where should the temp gauge run

Around in the middle and to the left a tad. About 200 deg.

My temperature coolant gauge is to the right of the mid line, at about 230 degrees. Could this be a problem. Could it be a faulty radiator cap?

The outside temperature where I live is 103 degrees. Could this cause the high temperature, 230 degrees, in the coolant temp gauge?

My spikes to 230 when the temperature is 105+ outside and i have 5 people in the van. Did you find the correct answer?
