Fuel smell in cabin on 10 Mini S Turbo convertable

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought my Mini about 3 weeks ago from the Mini dealer and any time I
have the top up I experience a strong fuel smell in the cabin. I am changing
out the regular maintenance items (plugs(iridium), filters(K&N), etc) to see
if that helps. I have read a few places that the intakes will get a lot of
carbon build up, but I don't know if that would force fuel to go through the
system unspent so that I smell it inside. I don't see any visible cracks,
breaks, or otherwise on the fuel rail or the hoses. The turbo kicks in and
does great, so I don't it's that. It also doesn't seem to have any air flow
issues, so I am ruling out the MAF. I am looking for suggestions before I
take it back to the dealership and lose it for a few days. My husband says
just leave the top down all the time. I want to agree, but eventually it will
rain. Thanks in advanced for the help.

I think so too, but I'll wondering if anyone else has has this happen and can give me an idea of where to look for the leak. There are no visible leaks on the ground, smoke from exhaust, or loss of power.

check your injectors for possible seepage. The "O" rings on the injectors do wear out. You'll know this when you inspect them and find one that is cleaner than the others (gasoline is a solvent so it will clean the dirt away as it leaks out).
