Go to your local Auto Zone & they will acess the reason for the light being on for free & should reset it to the off position. Probably just the cap was an issue. Good Luck !

you may need a new gas cap. also if the problem persists it might come up an evap code. possibly a purge solenoid.

auto zone can only get the base outline of your cars issues. Take the car to a vw/audi specialist shop they can scan the car and tell you exactly whats wrong. also what engine does your car have? alot of the 2.0L engines were a pit of problems in 2010-2012

Take your car to Auto Zone for "FREE" & let them tell you what to do before you go to a " SPECIALIST " & piss your money away..... Could just simply be a $ 50.00 part!!!

Generic scan tools are not the same as vagcom or dealer's equipment. Proper diagnosis first will cost less than buying parts that you don't need. Mikeatpriestlake may be right, too, the gas cap seal may be worn out or purge solenoid may have gone bad. BTW, you ought to be running higher octane fuel in the 2.0T.

2004 cc, go to autozone and get additive to add to tank to clean out the fuel injectors for the bad fuel you got. Did it and solved problem
