Question type: Maintenance & Repair

AFM (Automatic Fuel Management) is causing serious issues with Chevrolet
Silverado trucks with 5.3 liter engines. This is well known in the industry. It
had good intentions for improved fuel mileage (somewhat) but causes
engine damage. Many auto shops and mechanics know this. Has GM made
available to the general public an upgrade in the firmware code that
manages this to fix this awful and dangerous situation? A firmware code
upgrade is needed to be available to all of us with these vehicles.

There are aftermarket solutions. GM will never deactivate it.
