How can I enable MDS to stay on when I want to.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have seen where many RAM owners with the 5.7L Hemi with MDS want to disable the system. In my case I want to keep MDS activated on slightly hilly terrain.

The system is automatic and computer controlled. You can not tell it when to come on. You can affect it only with your right foot. To disable it turn the tow / haul mode on.

Thanks for answering. My hope was that there was a way to stay in MDS 4 cyl mode longer other than relying on my right foot. Do you suppose the dealer can "tweak" the computer to keep MDS mode active longer instead of cutting off when you hit a small uphill stretch of highway? Thanks again.

I would doubt that there is anything the dealer can do as MDS is all automatically computer controlled.
