Dodge Ram 1500 2012.

My husband can put the key in
enough to start the truck but it will
not fully go all the way into the key
slot like it use to. What could be the
issue ?

Sounds like the ignition cylinder teeth (gears) inside the tumbler has worn or chipped off and causing your issue. A new ignition cylinder and key set are reasonably priced also pretty easy to install. Hope this helps and good luck.
