AC Problems

I drove my truck home from work one evening with ac working fine. I got up the
next morning and it was blowing nothing but warm air and had a weird kinda
smell coming out of the vents.The clutch is not engaging on the compressor. I
replaced the resistor on the blower motor  as I was told by a mechanic that this
might be the problem but it was not. Any ideas?

Next step is to check the refrigerant in the system with AC gauges. There is a low pressure switch that prevents the compressor from engaging if the level is low.
