verify vehicle ownership

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

Your verification process is very frustrating. There are much easier and secure ways to verify like registration records and/or insurance policies. Further you are delaying the sales process needlessly. Two days to verify???

Try the other guys and see if it is easier. CG's seems to be doing something right as they have way more listings than the other sites.

Just because it is "like the other guys" does not mean it is a good way to verify. Why not verify at the beginning of the process? I am trying to conduct a private sale for the first time. I have a potential buyer that I am communicating with and right in the middle the program stops me to verify. It is 10:00 p.m. and raining. How am I supposed to take a picture of my car at this time of night in these conditions? Even when I can take a picture, it can take up to two days for them to respond. What about my buyer in the meantime??? He will think I'm a flake at the very least!

I'm in the same boat. Soon as we looked to agree on a price, they asked me to verify. I guess it is part of their process to protect the buyer. However, I am curious to know why they don't verify when you list?... at the beginning of the process.
