A/C Problem 2010 Yukon XL

Asked by Denise Apr 22, 2017 at 08:00 PM about the 2010 GMC Yukon XL SLT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We noticed, last summer, that our a/c was not as cold and
the seat coolers were not cooling. We tried to recharge the
ac and it did not fix the problem. Now, when we start the
truck and the a/c is on, it moans pretty loudly for about 10
to 20 seconds, then fades. If we have the a/c off and start
it, it doesn't make the sound. Are the two issues related?

Either the AC clutch or belt may be slipping ,, if you serviced the AC yourself be aware if the system had air in it or if the freon had oil in it you can damage your system ... sounds like your stalling the compressor
