Chris, go to your local auto parts supplier or trailer supply place and purchase an electrical brake controller and install under the dash of your van. Also buy a 7 terminal RV trailer plug connector set and route on frame of van and hook into van wiring system for lights and run wire to feed trailer electrical brakes. Should be a diagram with electrical controller package. Also a class 2 trailer hitch. Depending on weight of trailer loaded, you may elect to add a leaf spring to each side of rear axle to beef up rear suspension.
You can buy a brake controler from most rv or trailer places along with having it installed there. They will wire everything up for you and you should be good to go. Also depending on how heavy the trailer is you might want to look into getting a transmission cooler if its an auto just to help keep the temps down to save your transmission.
