What is the anti-diesel switch used for?

Question type: General
I have a 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 with the Cummins engine. It has an anti-diesel switch
and I asked what it was used for when I first bought it and after some discussion, the
service person says it should stay on all the time. ?? If it is supposed to stay on all the
time, why have a switch (or push on/off buttton)?? Also, my Dodge is model XLT. I never
can find that when looking for parts. SLT yes, but XLT no.

since you can't find your owner's manual WRITE THESE INSTRUCTIONS DOWN: 1/ unless you are very confident leave the anti-diesel switch on all the time.......2/ it is a safety warning device........3/ it works by automatically deploying a large, heavy, spring loaded punching glove out of the side of your truck whenever you attempt to fill up with gasoline instead of diesel......4/this will soundly knock you away from the vehicle and prevent you from stopping at a gas pump ever again.

I came back to this question a few times. When nobody had jumped in I just couldn't not answer this poor questioner's delema.
Nothing in the owners manual on it. So I see you guys have no idea what it is for either. Thanks for your help morons!
there is no such a thing as an anti-diesel switch on any dash board that has on & off. Anti diesel solenoid is a real thing but it ain't on your dash with an on/off button.
and as to the second rediculous query SLT,XLT,ABCDEFG, who cares?
