How do you stop Bait and Switch

Asked by David Sep 17, 2016 at 12:25 PM about the 2010 Porsche Cayman Base

Question type: General

How do you report "bait and switch?"  It is apparently common and acceptable
practice in my area for dealerships and independent car lots to advertise a car
that they do not have in stock.  Some would tell you "well, we had that car but
we sold it" but then they will re-advertise the car as a new ad when they know
they do not have it

Getting you to the lot is more important. Another among many of their tactics.

Go online and read the dealership reviews. Then you're an informed consumer and won't visit the shady dealerships. Simple.
