where did you purchase the car from?
the car is a roush and is for sale at the largest rousch dealer in the southeast. they told me it would be essentially an as-is purchase. i would think they or roush would have more faith in their product. i have a stage 1 roush and love it. without the cov-rage of warranty do i stay with my stage 1? thanks tony
A 3 year/36,000 mile warranty Is usually what Roush super charges automatically come with. you should contact Roush with the part # and ask them how much of a warranty is left on the charger. it sounds to me like they still have a year or 36k miles left till the warranty is gone. If the car has been well maintained and hopefully running a minimum of premium gas (Octane 91 or 92) if the filters have been changed regularly Also, if your vehicle has an abnormally heavy duty cycle, such as racing or towing, you could consider changing the oil at regular intervals such as 20k, 30k, 50k, or 100k miles depending on usage. If the vehicle is in good condition and has been well maintained i would say keep it!
Thanks for your response.Would you or anyone out there know what kind of durabilty a roushcharger would have under non-stressful conditions. Also, what does it take to maintain it properly? Thanks Tony
Maintenance Your car's supercharger is driven by a supercharger belt. This accessory drive belt runs around the crankshaft, idler pulley and the supercharger pulley. All belts have a life expectancy. Supercharger drive belts usually have a life expectancy of between 50,000 and 70,000 miles. Most manufacturers specify a replacement interval of 60,000 miles. However, just like all the other accessory belts on your car, if the belt shows signs of wear, such as cracking or fraying on the edges, it should be replaced as soon as possible. This is a relatively easy process that can be accomplished in less than an hour. How Often Does the Air Filter of a Supercharger Need to be Replaced? Your car's air filter for the supercharger filters the air that is forced in to your engine, mixed with the fuel and combustion in the engine cylinders. Whether you have a supercharger or not, you should observe the recommended air filter changing interval set forth by the maker of your car. Most car makers specify between 12,000 and 15,000 miles for an air filter changing interval. However, if you live in an area with a high dust or pollen content in the air, you should at least inspect the filter on a monthly basis. Take the filter out and hold it up to a light. If you can see light through it, then you don't need to change it.
It should say in your manual when to change oil too
