Is 450 dollars a good price for an axle and a wheel bearing replaced?

That's about average. Just depends where you live and if a new car dealership did the work or an independent garage.

Thanks for your input! It was a independent garage and my boyfriends grandpa says he's fair but I just want to make sure. What about for brakes we need those but he wants 270 to do them with parts?

No problem. Listen to grandpa he knows, LOL. As far as the brakes, are we talking front, front and rear, just pads, pads and rotors, semi metallic pads or ceramic pads, with or without new hardware?
