Camshaft sensor

Asked by David Sep 02, 2018 at 04:55 PM about the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm trying to locate the location of my driver's side
camshaft sensor before I go digging around blind.
Anyone know where it's at?

It would be at one end of the cam. I can't say if it is the front or back. Look for wires.

If that doesn't work, scan for fault codes and be sure you have actually had a camshaft sensor failure, a code P0340. On my Jeep, with a totally different engine, that sensor is where the distributor would have been located on that engine 20 years ago. Okay. If you are getting a code P0320, that is the crankshaft position sensor located on the bell housing where engine and tranny meet. Tell us what you find. Good Luck
