My 1986 325 is surging when idling, going from 1100 to about 1600. But other wise running fine.

Car is running sluggish , when I pull the fuse that controls the RPM gauge car runs excellent except for surging when clutch is held in. Surges between 1100 and maybe 1600 rpm? Help  there are no BMW mechanics here in Picayune,Ms !! Girl's gotta do it

Sounds like a vacuum line. Very common problem due to rubber lines failing.

I double that, A vacuum line is probobly the problem. Cool car btw ;)
