I have an 07 Cadillac - same issue -- theft lock is on, cant turn key to "off" position - stops at accessory -- "service theft system" message comes up along with traction control icon -- makes no sense! -- a "mechanic" mentioned a non factory installed remote starter may be the problem -- still trying to get someone to disconnect that for me under dash -- very frustrating!!!!

I have an 06 CTS with exactly the same problem. Took it to dealership and they diognosed it as ECM gone and key lock cylinder. I have replaced the lock cylinder via locksmith, no change. New ECM comes tomorrow but I don't know if I can do the 10 minete programing when the key won't turn past ACC. I guess I'll find out if the ECM takes care of everything.

Sorry I forgot to update. ECM fixed all the problems and is still working just fine.

Had same problem. Had to do the key relearn. After about 5 minutes my theftlock resets allowing access to systems & removal of the key. Replaced ECM & problem went away for awhile. Next step for me is the key identifier (ring around the key mounted on the ignition switch).

Turn your key to auxiliary open the driver door leave it open. Open fuse box. Pull the anti theft fuse put back in and pull ecm fuse twice put it back. Get into car shit door start it. Turn it off. That should reset everything. It did for me. I have a Cadillac’s CT’s 2003

I was having the same problem with my radio saying Anti-Theft when I took it in there's a recall on all 07 so if you have an 07 take it in in the dealer has to do the recall but then I asked him if they could take the anti-lock off the radio and they said yeah no problem then didn't do it fix the other cuz they had to it was a recall but wanted me to pay $1,000 for a stock radio they said when they put in the stock radio it would work out of their shop but when they will put back in mines they couldn't program it but the all sevens and not anti-lock stuff has a recall so take it to the local dealership and they have to do it for free

I had the same problem on my 06 Cadillac CTS 3.6 L. I definitely think it is something defective with the Cadillac CTS models made from about 2003-2007 because my brother had the same problem on his 04 CTS. Anyways, my car would not start because of the anti-theft system, and it would not allow me to take the key out. This would happen out of the blue, especially when it hadn’t been started in a while. To fix this, the previous owner installed an override button under the ignition by the center console trim. The button basically allows me to push it with my left hand while I’m turning the key (if the car won’t start), and it starts almost every time unless I need a jump. I highly recommend this as an option for anyone who is having this problem. While it isn’t ideal, it fixes the problem and will allow you to get through it in the future, which is very useful because the service theft/anti- theft system seems to be a recurring problem for those that have issues with it.

Had a problem with my cadillac 2005 srx. Anty theft system was on. Could not take the key out of the ignition. Traction control light was on. Temperature gauge didn't work. Fuel Guage didnot work either. I change the ecm and it fix everything thing.

My 06 CTS did the same exact thing. You can use a paper clip to get the key out and change the ignition switch. There's a little hole on the bottom of the ignition switch. You can push in the bent straight clip and turn off or remove the switch. My problem was the ECM. Got one on ebay and changed it, programmed it and had no further problems with that for the next four years I owned it. Lots of other problems though.

Did you all replace your ECM or did someone else. Im currently having the exact same problem. I watched a YouTube video and it seems like I can replace this myself. I found part online were i provide my VIN and the send me a programed ECM. For $360.00. I was quoted at shop like $1500!

I replace my miself. You can do it yourself. Just make sure that the ecm is the problem. You just going to program the key. Really easy to do. Where you buy the ecm they send you instructions.

Robert, can you provide the part number for the ECM? I am assuming this is different than the theft deterrent module on the column. Thanks
