Problems with my 1989 BMW 325i

When trying to put it in reverse, I am unable to do so, goes into drive fine but won't reverse what should I do? is this going to be alot of money to fix?

Sounds like your transmission is shot. I would have this diagnosed just to be sure but you are likely looking at a new or reman transmission.

But if it was shot wouldn't everything be messed up, like drive and all the shifts? Could it be somehthing with the linkage?
