I recently purchased a 2006 Cadillac CTS from a dealership. Was driving it home this past Friday doing 100 km/he when all of a sudden every time I hit the gas it started to rev.

are you sure the red fluid was coolant instead of atf? it is red too. I am assuming that the car ran fine when they got done with it? if you have any warranty, don't let them off the hook until you figure it out. It sounds like a tranny thing to me too.

I'm not sure if it was tranny fluid or coolant. They said they replaced the rad te hose and clamp. Checked the trany fluid and it looks good. Doesn't look like any coolant for in there I literally had this car for 15 minutes before this happened. Is this just one of those things that can happen or something more

Never heard of this happening in relation to coolant leak, but I guess anything is possible. If there are no engine lights and it is running fine now it could be hard to diagnose unless it happens again.

Im sure was the tranny, the liquid has a very special smell, you remenber the type of smell?, that hapenned once on my transmission, and yes was a bolt that somebody put´s in the airtake of the tranny cuz the tranny was making to much preassure and that its because you have a bad tranny, for me i damage the reverse with the low level of transmission fluid, but that can happend ramdom, botton line you need to check that!!

I couldn't really smell anything as I was on the highway shoulder and with the win it was minus 30. They replaced the rad the rad hose and clamp. Got the car back yesterday everything seems done nothing is leaking anymore. The leak was also coming from basically dead center in the car in the front
