1992 bmw 325i i have a button with an A and M on it, is that for automatic and manual transmission? if so, where do i shift? thx

It locks the transmission into the gear you were currently in then to shift you use the trans selector to change gears. Here is a good article about using this set up. http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php? t=293769&highlight=button
