If you need to add fluid to the reservoir, BMW recommends Dexron-III ATF Fluid. If you just want to top off, use Mobile 1 Synthetic ATF fluid. Remember, only use ATF (I'm assuming you have an auto tranny) since BMW uses ATF instead of regular powersteering fluid.
