Yearly maintenance budget for a BMW 3-series

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I'm looking into a '01-'05 BMW 3 series with about 100K miles. Assuming all things being average (including how much I drive a year), how much should I budget per year for maintenance if I take it to a independent European auto mechanic? I live in Texas so salt's not a problem, but I use the AC about 6 months out of the year.

Find a BMW forum and ask owners how much they spend per year.

I had a 2002 330XI for almost 4 years...just the suspension control arm was $1200 on a regural shop, NOT BMW...your windows motors will go for sure, $140 each plus labor...the thermosthat is $80 plus $50 for the labor because is behind the motor fan...is a great car but too expensive on maintaince...thats why I went back to Nissans!!!
the average cost for a mini service in the uk is about 175 pounds a full service is three to four hundred pounds with a dealer stamp in your book so i would say a budget of 1000 dollars for the year barring any mechanical failures which are rare with the one series but as long as you keep the cam belt up to spec and all oils/coolants changed once every six months you wont go to wrong bmws over here are bullit proof regards j.s autos uk
