2005 Deville - intermittent no start
Asked by tkodetailz Oct 23, 2010 at 09:43 PM about the 2005 Cadillac DeVille Sedan FWD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My Deville with Northstar cranks but about every 5 times it does not start right away. I turn the key back to off position, wait a few seconds and it usually starts. Replaced fuel filter, pressure test was done for fuel system. No mechanic here. I've read a article about vacuum leaks. Coil? Wires? Any thoughts as I have it scheduled to go in to the local Cadillac dealer on Monday. This should be costly...yikes.

I have no idea, but I had that problem on a Durrango. It ended up being the starter, it had a 'bad spot' on it, so it wouldnt start every 4th, sometimes 3rd, time. Just a guess for ya.

Got this problem fixed. There was a GM bulletin to do a reprogram. Took to dealer and only cost 1 hour labor. Was very happy. Seems to be resolved ... been 6 days and starts right up each time.
