Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The car has37K  -- Has Conti run-flats -- Feels like the shocks bottom out on slight imperfections in the road which are easily absorbed by any other car I've owned.
Will replacing the run-flats with conventional tires improve this? What are my tire options?

I am betting the tires are the culprit, or overly large diameter wheels. I run ExtremeContacts DWS and am more than impressed with combination of ride, traction and long life than any tire to date. But also have Finnish snow tires as have no traction control..mine is a 1993 lol. Currently riding on Bilstein Coil- Overs and have firm but compliant ride..very good combination.

Iv never known anyone to say a good thing about run flats, they are a very hard ride and noisey on the road so I expect that is your problem, BMW's are very sensitive to tyres but I would recomend P6000s, they are a nice mid range tyre but are fine on grip but also very smooth and quiet.

A 5:30 AM thought..you did not mention how many miles on the vehicle. Correct me if wrong but the run-flats theoretically cause shorter shock life due to the natural stiffness of the RF sidewalls. If you have over 50K miles I would suggest new shocks are in order. Let us know what you find as the cause.
