Why does my engine coolant completely get used?

Why does my engine coolant get sucked up and then released back into the
reservoir on my 2005 Cadillac Deville?

I will fill up the coolant reservoir to the fill line. I cut my car on and after about
30 minutes it will suck up ALL the coolant. When I twist the cap to the
reservoir then the coolant all comes back. This does not always happen.
Sometimes the coolant, all gets used up and twisting the cap does not bring
it back.

Absolutely, blown head gasket. Your Cadillac has a Northstar engine and they all blow head gaskets! It's not worth fixing at this point either. The engine and transmission MUST be removed from the vehicle from the bottom of the vehicle. Then you need to have the repairs made by a shop who is familiar with this engine and the button kit that needs to be installed. About ten years ago it was a thirty five hundred dollar job. That figure is probably double that today. Assuming you can find someone to do the job and do it correctly. My advice is junk it and move on! Jim
