Yes, coolant can migrate to the transmission or engine via the cooler lines.

Can water get in both engine & transmission through a bad engine oil cooler gasket or a bad oil filter housing gasket?

A leaking OFHG has nothing to do with the coolant and can't migrate.

Is it oil or transmission fluid? Oil and coolant can in fact mix through a leaking oil filter housing gasket on the N52 engines. Coolant runs through that gasket as well.
