What does yellow/red coolient temperature light mean

I was driving my bmw 328i 07 . And a yellow
coolient temp signal popped up on dashboard
and turned red . Then car started slowing
down. I jus got my reservoir replaced and
water pump replaced . Do anybody know wat

It's all related. Maybe you are low on fluid or the thermostat failed. I do like to replace all the coolant parts at the same time, due to them being all the same age for situations like what you are describing. Do not drive it anymore as you risk damage to the engine from overheating. I hope you shut the car off after the car slowed down and had it towed back to the shop that did the work.
