Serpentine belt came of due to oil filter squirting oil all over.Got the belt back on,changed out the oil filter, ran the car for 10 miles or so,came home and it hasn't started since.(a month ago)Purchased a new battery, installed it,everything works within the car with the exception of it actually starting. What should I do now?

If you're turning the key and the car does nothing at all, it sounds like your starter is bad. If the engine is cranking over forever, but it just won't start, I would start checking to see if you have spark and fuel. Have you checked all of your fuses to make sure that something didn't short out when all of the oil came out? If fuses look good, you can try this simple starter test. Jack up the car. Locate the starter. Have someone hold the key to the ON position like they are starting the car. As they hold the key, rap on the starter with a hammer. If the car suddenly turns over, your starter is bad and needs replacement.
Thanks Mark,I appreciate it.Have tried that as well with no success.Kind of sucks because I work offshore and not home daily.Ive been told that I may need to take it to BMW and have the service dept to register the battery, just not sure what to do at this point. Thanks for the knowledge.
Thanks guys,I appreciate it. I am offshore working for another week (work 2 weeks with 2 weeks off)and once home just have to pay whatever to get it running again. As I said earlier, got the serpentine belt on,jumped it,it started, ran it for about 10 miles, came home & turned it off and it hasn't started since.Hot a new battery, installed it and it's still not starting. I appreciate all the insight guys, truly appreciate it.
