Question type: General

I just purchased a used 1992 BMW 525i. I really like it. Even though this car is 16 years old, I am thinking that I would buy one just like it after this one.

There is switch next to the shifter. It has an A and an M. I am thinking that it is for automatic and manual. Looking for some details on how this works. The car did not come with the operators manual.

Thank you,
Jason.

Correct! This should allow you use the vehicle in Automatice or Manual modes while driving. However, the manual mode may automatically shift after you hit a certain RPM or MPH.
