Should I use regular or plus gasoline?

I assume your car calls for premium. If so, I would use premium. Test your MPG with a tank of each if you are a skeptic. Do the math on both tanks and most likely you will come out on top using what is called for. Hope this helps.

your best bet is a higher octane.i have alot of people come to me with an estimate from a dealer sometimes my own and its for thousands of dollars.reccomending plugs, injectors, coils, injector flush etc.and the first thing i ask is what kind of gas do u use.so use at least the 89.
your cars engine may run better with regular than plus. its all about the octane bro. check you gas cap
I started usig regular 89 octane gas. Then compared the mileage I was getting on 93 octane. It's cheaper to pay more since I get such better mileage.

Thank you all. I just traded my 2005 Nissan Frontier for the 1999 BMW and there was no Manual. So, I'm putzing round trying for the best Info.. I kinda leaned towards your advice ( all of your's ) and I was gratified that we are pretty much on the same page. Thanks to you all-- Tom
Better still, throw in some LiquiMoly every third or fourth tank. The additive is made in Europe and works wonders for restoring performance and cleaning injectors. Your local NAPA should carry it. The oil is great too!
My wife says that her 2002 530i bucks when 89 is used. All the bmwr I have owned I never had a problem with 89 octane. The guy we bought it from said on every tankful he mystery mixed in. Could this be the problem?
I used 87 octane in my 2002 530i sport from new. Have had no adverse effect and it is still going strong. DBW
