I have the newer model but when you are buying a 4x4 and/or AWD system you should have the transfer case fluids checked. 86,000 miles is close to 112,000kms so I would have to say that you should consider changing all your fluids if you buy this vehicle. They should be done around 80,000kms as per the 2007 warranty guide. But this is just a guide. So when you have the fluids checked if they are burnt or smell burnt have them changed. My unit is full synthetic and I would assume that the unit you are looking at is too. Also pulling could be from worn suspension, you should have that checked as well. As for timing chain, this vehicle has a belt driven system. You yourself can check the belts. Cracked and worn belts are easy to spot.
Make sure the transfer case don't whine, other then that if drives straight it is a great vehicle. I have a 2002 with 160 and is a strong as the day I bought it with 96k
I agree i have a 2002 also never had any problem with mine bought it brand new.I have over 200k miles still drives like new. Had my belts changed @ 150k miles. Good vehicle. Love it.
