Question type: General

Car Vin says indicates M5 when I looked it up on internet
How do I know other than the Steering wheel and Gear shift knob that it is actually an M% and what other parts would be part of an "M" package?

If the vin days it's an m5, there's your answer. If you don't like the internet answer, go to a bmw dealer our the dmv.

"M5" would be a completely different vehicle than 528i, which is easily solvable, look under the hood. And //Msport packages only existed for 540's. My guess is someone has swapped the steering wheel and shifter knob out with //M pieces.

That would be my thought too. I'm not a huge fan of BMW and their owners to begin with just for that reason.

Owners, no. Now the enthusiasts are usually pretty good guys though. 'Course I guess that's true for any marque or brand
