Price range for engine?

Around how much could a 2000 540i V8 engine sell for? It has about 100K miles on it. I recently got into a
wreck and am trying to weigh my options about repairing vs. selling for parts.

Yours is an M62TUB44 with VANOS, so it's worth a little more than my '97. How much is your estimated damage? And which transmission? The 420G manuals can pull in a good amount as well. I've seen VANOS engines pull over $2k, easy. Some shops want $4k, call it average around $3,000? If you do decide to sell for parts, let me know. I might need some!
