why tow capicity (2000 pounds) so low in a big V-6 with rear drive?

It's a cadillac not really made for towing and if it has the air bags in the rear that level the car out it may mess with the system because it can't level a trailer over 2000 lbs. The escalade on the other hand is on the yukon chassis and has a much higher towing capacity. Just a thought......
