Bluetooth activation?

just purchased used 530i, how do i sync the bluetooth? do I need a bmw car phone for this feature to work? original buyer purchased car in April 04. thx to anyone who can help.

any bluetooth phone will work.....add new device on your phone and accept on the Idrive, passcode for phone and car is 0000....hope this helps

you can choose any code you want, the code in the car and the phone has to be the same (similar to other bluetooth applications)

Just bought a 2006 bmw 525xi and my bluetooth is saying it need passcode to connect but i dont know the passcode what do i do?

Hola buenos días , Acabo de comprar un bmw 530i año 2004 y quiero conectar mi teléfono Ipoh con el carro y cuando entro a comunicación me pone en la pantalla consulte con su consecionario bmw que puedo hacer ayúdenme por favor
