heater settings

Asked by jrtgracie Feb 02, 2011 at 08:36 AM about the 2004 BMW 5 Series 530i Sedan RWD

Question type: General

Bought the car two years ago and have never been able to really get heat.  I feel like I am just not placing the setting for optimum use.  How do I set controls for heat?

you can never get full heat to the face vents.this is to prevent your upper body and face from becoming too warm and getting sleepy.this is normal and designed to operate this way.if the stratified air wheel is all the way in the red and im guessing you have IHKA and the temp is at all the way up thats as hot as it goes.you may have another issue but will have to stick a thermometer in the center vent and let me know what the temp is.
