Transmission issue

Asked by I_need_2nd_opinion Nov 12, 2017 at 12:19 PM about the 2004 BMW 5 Series 525i Sedan RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have 04 BMW 525i series and was involved in an accident,
damage repaired was the whole suspension. I get it back
and drove it for a few hours and now my car won't drive.
They towed it back to the shop and now tell me it looks like
the transmission has been leaking for a while a nd they
want to do a flush, and that still might not work. Anyone
can help with answers? Please

What exactly stops your car from driving? Does it not let you change gears, does it grind or is it really clunky, does it not start up at all, etc.?

It does start and it revs too. Just when I put it in gear reverse and drive it does not catch the gear. Now it has a warning that says trans fault. This never happened before the accident.
