I am assuming you are talking about the 5 series GT. That vehicle is a nice vehicle for a family because of the increased interior room that it has over the rest of the SAV's. And all the extra options that you can choose from. The vehicle is called a 2+2 seater but can easily sit 5. I do recommend a test drive in the GT then in an X5 to see the difference in ride quality. But I know the GT is pretty pricy so as an alternative I would also suggest the new F25 X3. Hope this helps.

If you give more parameters of what you care about in a vehicle, your driving style, priorities, etc... , I can recommend what other vehicles would compare favorably. In the meantime, some news on what's changing for the GT for 2013 http://wot.motortrend.com/2013-bmw-5-series-gt-gets-new-engine-more-power-better-mpg-222909.html
