HELP PLZ.I filled my gas tank all the way to the top
probably too high to where it came out the nozzle I
clicked it like 20 times just so it was filled to the
max,which I've done b4. I also put a fuel injector
cleaner just to do it,I went home I parked it I come
back out the car was turning over but wasn't
starting I tested the little fitting that looks like a air
nozzle for the gas to come out it came out so it
wasn't fuel pum, I took my air filter off spray
starting fluid in it it started for a second but then
cut out, when I put a battery charger on it today the
car starts up but now I got smoke coming from
underneath the hood and the hose to the radiator
is so hot and that happened within four minutes of
it just running idling. does anybody know what
could be the problem where the smoke is coming
from I have 4 Kids one car I really need to help
thank you.

You shouldn't keep filling the tank after the nozzle clicks. It may be OK 100 times, but this time you probably pushed raw fuel into the emissions control system. This may have flooded the engine with fuel and/or filled the evap control system with liquid fuel. The purge valve on the evap may be dumping fuel into the engine causing hard/no start at first, then smoke after. The fuel mixture might be so rich that it overheats the catalytic conv and could cause a fire. I am just guessing. You need a mechanic to look at it. There is a chance it will clear itself out, but do you want to take the risk with your kids in the car.

KEVIN.No way thx so much, the other thing that I forgot to say was after I filled it up with 93 to the top and put that little bottle of injector cleaner I turned the heat on because it was cold and exhaust started coming out my vents so thick that it was making my eyes water so I turned it off and turn the air conditioner on and it didn't come out then just with the heat on and this was right after I filled it up probably about 10 minutes after I filled it up like I did????

Just bought the car 2mnth ago 55,000 to.when I push that air looking fitting to see if gas came out the little bit of gas stayed on the engine I did because when it wasn't turning over utube said that's 1 way to see if its a fuel pump.but it came out.could that make thick white smoke burning off the engine?? But rad hose was super hot in 4- 6mins of idling,is that normal for a car to get hot so quick???I'm a plumber I can plumb a state lol just font know about cars.

Smoke and gas/exhaust smell through the vents could be spilled fuel on the engine. When you turned on the A/C, if it was on recirculate (button above AC button) that would stop pulling the fumes in and just move the air around inside the car.

As far as your rad hose being hot... some engines do heat up rather quickly. When your engine is at proper operating temperature, the rad hose will be very hot, 200 degrees hot! If the coolant reservoir is filled to the proper level, and you don't have any warning lights on the dash, or alerts in the info center on the dash, you probably don't have anything to worry about as far as overheating. Check your coolant level when the engine is cold. (when hot, the system is under pressure) Keep an eye on the gauges.

Hey Kevin u been awesome thx .so I haven't been sleeping,I notice the day this happen the volts of info of battery was 12.2 me not knowing better and didn't know that it takes 14-15 volts to start a car.so checking everything u were telling I notice it said 11.1 but everything in the car was working all this time I never knew a car needed a certain amount of volts to start I thought if the key turned over and you had power and said that it was good but anyways I put a battery charger on it two seconds later starts right up which is a good sign because at least now I know kind of what the problem is since I drove the car it was back up to 15 and now it's dropping again down the 14,13,12 12 12.5 12.2???so I'm just guessing new battery or alternator is going bad what do you think Kevin???

Old school method to test your alternator is start the car, then, with the car running, disconnect the negative battery cable. If the car dies instantly, the alternator is bad. If it stays running, the alternator is working.
