Unstable low idle

My 1996 w202 c180 engine rpm would not come
down after acceleration. Its stays between 1500
2000rpm

Most likely cause is a vacuum leak. Try spritzing a little bit of starting fluid around your engine's intake (PCV, EGR, throttle body, etc.), if it surges you found your leak.
