HVAC blower

Asked by BlackSLS Apr 18, 2014 at 02:37 PM about the 2004 Cadillac Seville SLS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Blower only works occasionally. I have installed new resistor. Fuse is good. In either heat or A/C, blower only works occasionally. Everything else works, and speed indicator displays normally. According to all fuse/relay locations, there is no relay. Why would it work intermittently? Any help is profoundly appreciated!

I removed ground block on passenger side behind lower door close trim/kick trim. Cleaned screw and metal plate of ground block, and made sure all ground wires were fully in the block and cleaned receiver threads to make sure there was a good ground connection. Has worked fine ever since.

Sorry for this question. I don't know a lot about cars and neither does my boyfriend. Where is the ground block located and what does it look like. I'm having this issue but I can't find any YouTube videos showing how to do this and we can't afford to go to a mechanic. It's getting cold out and I need to be able to defrost the windows. My boyfriend was late to work one morning because we couldn't get the windows defrosted and we couldn't see out of them even after wiping them. Thank you
