I've driven a 2010 in the snow and it was great. They have the right weight distribution for a front drive car to be good in the snow - f/r (%), 60.5/39.5. The factory tires are fine- put on a set of ice/winter/snow tires, and they get better. Others agree: https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=4R2h23-_RDo

Front wheel drive cars run better in the rain or snow than rear wheel drive vehicles. It depends on the snow height, drifts or other factors of course. Winter tires will help as will chains in bad weather but make sure the chains are on the front tires. Seen the wrong tires with chanis all the time. It is funny to see. Enjoy the snow.

Speaking of tires chains, one of my front whee drive vehicles can accommodate standard, diamond pattern chains - It may drive through anything. But another one of my vehicles requires "no clearance" or "low profile" chain/devices because the strut is to close to the tire. IN that case I purchased something like Thule K-Summit Low-Profile Passenger Car Snow Chain. I see Amazon has them for just over $400. I have a Les Schwab version that works very well for a few dollars less than the Thule.

I did one better, I went to boot camp in San Diego (Marines) in November. Dad, in Iowa, wrote that they had three back to back blizzards and were stranded on the farm two weeks. I was basking in 70 degree weather and decided I found heaven on earth. I have not moved out of Southern California since 1966. Don't need no stinken chains.
