Posible cylinder and block warping
My son has a 2011 outback w/approx. 150K miles. Noticed engine hot light came on few weeks back. took it in and shop didn't see anything wrong except for coolant a bit low. Said it may have been a glitch of some sort. Today he experienced symptoms again, and the car shutdown on him at a light. Had it towed to different shop. They are not sure of the cause at this point, but are indicating that the cylinders and even block could possible be warped. Assuming this is correct, what is a reasonable cost expectation for this repair? I have no knowledge of Subaru and this type of repair. I don't have the quote yet form the shop to share, but nay insight is appreciated! Thanks in advance.
