2002 Cadillac Deville 4.6 needs head gasket.

Asked by jgalt38372 May 26, 2013 at 05:10 PM about the 2002 Cadillac DeVille Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Told there are consistent problems with these engines due to the aluminum involved.  Comments?  Also, told that expense of just replacing head gasket is too great considering the chance of it happening again.  IMO car is too old to consider swapping engine, but is in such great shape otherwise it is hard to let go.  Any comments appreciated.  Would love to have the repairs done without sinking $ into something that may or may not work.

Midwest Cadillac Repair comes highly recommended and people bring him their cars from all over. He only charges $2000 if you can get to Palatine, IL.
