explain cost of extended warrenty

Chris, be very careful here. Not all mechanical breakdown warranties are the same. Which company are you looking at? Normally, these are only sold for cars up to 100,000 miles. My stepson almost purchased a warranty for his truck that had more than 100,000 miles. When I read the exclusions, I determined it wasn't a good idea at all.
