Locking the trunk on a 2011 Buick Lacrosse

Question type: General

I use the keyless entry fob to lock the doors from the outside but I can still open
the trunk with the device above the license plate between the license plate
lights.  Is there no way to secure the trunk from unwanted entry

Make sure you walk away from the car with the remote and leave the remote over 30 ft away. Now go try the locked trunk. If the car senses the remote, the trunk will be unlocked. Same with the doors.
