Water pump replacement
The water pump on my 2011 Buick LaCrosse
needs to be replaced and i was wondering if i hv to
mess with the timing cover at all when i replace it.
In my opinion, no, you don't have to fool with front cover. All I did was look at my database, it didn't have water pump removal info, but, I found the picture.
Some engines the covers overlap. Not really that big of a deal, but if the engine has 100K miles on it, you may want to consider replacing the timing chain at the same time as the water pump, since you'll already be disassembling the front of the engine.
